WINTER POTTERY CLASSES @ MEDALTA
Registration is open and the studio is warm! Whether you are brand new or ready to level up, we have a seat at the wheel for you in one of our many class offerings.
Winter is the perfect time to get creative @ Medalta, and our studio is buzzing with courses for every interest and schedule. From relaxed one-day experiences to full eight-week deep dives, you can explore clay at your own pace, meet new people, and create something you’ll be proud to take home!

Friday Date Night Pottery (2 hrs)
Bring a partner, pal, or favourite relative for a relaxed night in the studio with clay, creativity, and a glass of wine or beer. Charcuterie included.
- Dates: January 23rd, February 27th, April 10th
- Time: 7:30pm to 9:30pm
- Investment: $80 per person plus GST
- Private group option: Available by request, minimum 8 registrants, subject to instructor availability
Saturday Samplers (3 hrs)
The perfect three-hour intro to wheel throwing. Learn the basics and choose one piece to be bisque fired and glazed.
- Dates: January 24th, February 28th, April 11th
- Time: 12:30pm to 3:30pm
- Investment: $70 plus GST
Saturday 4-Week Classes (12 hrs)
Short on time? Get a friendly, focused start with throwing and hand building. Great for beginners or anyone returning to clay.
- Start date: January 31st
- Time: 12:30pm to 3:30pm
- Investment: $165 plus GST
NEW! Saturday 4-Week Intermediate Coil Throwing (12 hrs)
Already comfortable on the wheel? Learn a technique that supports taller forms with more control. We will use warm terra cotta to create large planters with a natural finish.
- Start date: March 7th
- Time: 12:30pm to 3:30pm
- Investment: $185 plus GST
8-Week Hand Building (24 hrs)
No wheel needed! Explore coils, slabs, and more while you learn to build with your hands.
- When: Thursday nights starting January 15th
- Time: 6:30pm to 9:30pm
- Investment: $330 plus GST
8-Week Wheel Throwing (24 hrs)
A full studio journey from wedging to trimming to glazing. Create a collection of your own pieces – as many as you can choose to build during the course!
- When: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday nights starting January 12th
- Time: 6:30pm to 9:30pm
- Investment: $330 plus GST
- Extras: Additional clay and studio hours available at a discounted price
Supplementary Studio Hours (up to 9 hrs)
Must be currently registered in an active 8-week course to register. This additional Sunday studio time can be used to refine your techniques and finish work. Each session includes access to the studio and support from an instructor.
- Dates: February 8th, 15th, 22nd
- Hours: 1:00pm to 4:00pm
- Investment: $55 per three-hour session plus GST
- Note: Book as many sessions as you need within the dates provided
