8-WEEK ADULT POTTERY CLASSES
8-Week Beginner Pottery: Throwing and Handbuilding
Our 8-Week Beginner Pottery: Throwing and Hand Building class will cover a variety of basic pottery techniques for throwing on the wheel and hand-building. The class is designed to help you feel comfortable working with clay regardless of which method you’re using.
Each week, the instructor will go through a new aspect of the process including: centering, pulling, trimming, and glazing. This course allows registrants to go through the timeline twice and, by repeating the process, have more opportunities to develop the basic skills.
Students will learn every step of creating ceramics including wedging, throwing, trimming, glazing and more — with an emphasis on having fun and learning new things!
8- Week Introductory Hand Building: Coils, Slabs, and More!
We’re excited to offer another session of “Introductory Hand Building”. In this class, you will focus exclusively on ceramics without a wheel and learn how to build with your hands using techniques like coil and slab building.
This is a great class for someone looking to try something new and dedicate themselves to using new methods to build cups, vessels, and small sculptures!

Intermediate Pottery: Throwing Bigger with Coil Throwing
Our 4-Week Intermediate Pottery: Throwing Bigger with Coil Throwing class is designed for students with previous pottery experience and offers an opportunity to build on foundational wheel-throwing skills and take your practice to the next level!
Participants will learn the coil throwing technique, a method that allows the creation of larger forms on the wheel with greater efficiency and less physical strain. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on instruction, you’ll develop control, precision, and confidence while working toward a final piece approximately 40 cm in height. In this course, you will use beautiful terra cotta clay to make planters. The finished work will not have glaze on the surface.

Saturday “Sampler” Classes
A great way to try out wheel throwing without an 8-week commitment! Slide into a “sampler” session and discover if the clay life is for you! Bring your partner, your parents, or that friend who keeps saying they want to try pottery. This is an easygoing three hours of spinning, laughing, and discovering what your hands can really do.
You will sit down at the potter’s wheel with an instructor guiding you, try a few forms, and choose your favourite creation to bisque. If you want to take it further, you can save that piece to glaze in a future eight week course. Finished work will be ready for pick up in about three to four weeks.
