Medalta was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1985 and recognized as a Provincial Historic Resource of Alberta in 1996.

Today, Medalta focuses on bridging Canada’s industrial clay heritage with the artistry of modern ceramics.

In July 2025, Medalta in the Historic Clay District introduced their new Executive Director, Jessica Whitford.

Where Your Support Goes
Every contribution helps us preserve Medalta’s historic buildings and collections, offer hands-on learning for all ages, and welcome artists from around the world to create in our studios. Your gift also supports community programs, exhibitions, and the care of our unique industrial heritage.

We take this responsibility seriously. Every dollar is used with care to protect our history, inspire creativity, and keep Medalta thriving for generations to come.
