September 15, 2017September Vlog! Lifelong Learning – Fiona Goorman
Today, many parents watched their little ones head back for the first day of the school year, and with that in mind, we want to reflect this month on what it means to continue learning beyond formal education. What does it mean to individuals to continue challenging themselves and learning throughout life?
Fiona Goorman from Kamloops, B.C., received her Bachelor of Applied Science, but afterward wanted to continue to learn in a different way. She has been working with clay since 2004, and decided to make her first trek to Medicine Hat to participate in Noriko Masuda’s Plaster Workshop. Watch our video to see Goorman’s interpretation of lifelong learning – the connection of past experience to future learning, and how the process is more important than the finished product.
