Emma Covill grew up near Glacier National Park and studied Graphic Design and Biology Education in Nashville, TN. There, Covill fell in love with rock climbing and traveling and draws a lot of inspiration from the different places she has been and the people she has met. Covill is currently studying ceramics at the University of Montana, Missoula and will be graduating in 2018 with a BA in Fine Art.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I am a potter currently creating sets of high-fire functional ware, focusing on intricate surfaces and clean forms. I’m interested in images of everyday life and our surroundings as decoration on objects that we use often, creating intimate relationships between our environment and our belongings.
