ARTIST STATEMENT
I draw my inspiration from the natural world around me – simple scenes of animals and birds in their habitat. As I build an image in clay, my creation begins to take on its own life and shares its story of living in an environment often dominated by humans. While my primary mission as an artist is to create pleasing images, I want also to convey the importance of respecting and preserving nature and its inhabitants. By introducing humour and whimsy into my pieces, I hope to generate a connection that encourages people to delight in the nature that surrounds them.
