ARTIST STATEMENT
My studio practice is multi-disciplinary and spans interests in materiality and processes inherent in the act of making. Incorporating collage, sculpture, performance, video and textiles, my work explores ideas of authorship, craft and labour for both gallery and site-specific installations. Often working with groups and individuals, I develop works that are collaborative in nature, socially engaged and performative.
Over the last few years I have made several works that are connected by a number of underlining themes focused on the making process. These ‘acts’ I describe as performances, often revealing the destructive nature or handmade gestures of the process. Their outcomes are experimental and unknown that reveal their failures and successes.
