ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a painter who makes pots, who searched for ways to bring together my two passions. Pots are essentially containers of space, and it is the space of the pot that interests me. I attempt to bridge the visible world and the secret world of the pot’s interior. I often paint from my porch or garden, or I take pots on my bicycle to nearby city parks to paint plein air, responding to the intimate interface of urban life and nature. The plein air tradition ensures a sort of mindfulness, which I try to convey with my work.
