BIO

Ice Fredericks is a multidisciplinary artist based in Vancouver, BC. Coming from a painting, printmaking and sculpture background, she began her ceramics journey in 2018 at the Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby, BC. Ice is looking forward to starting the final year of her BFA in Visual arts at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in the fall of 2023.

ARTIST STATEMENT

The exploration of gesture and sound form the basis of my artistic practice. My ceramic works explore sound and human connection by encouraging interactive and performative experiences. The ceramic sculptures engage the viewer by exploring negative space and colour, bridging 2D and 3D surfaces.
