Kerria Gray is a photographer, teacher, and ceramicist has been working with clay since 2016. In 2019 Kerria started their own pottery studio with several other ceramicists, allowing them to expand their knowledge of glaze making, and firing. In addition to electric firings Kerria has participated in a Raku (Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, 2018) and wood firing (Nanaimo Tozan Society, 2019).

ARTIST STATEMENT

In the context of an extremely distracting digital world, I am interested in how the physical processes of ceramics correlate to material and theoretical ideas of space, care, attention, community, play, failure, and delight.
