ARTIST STATEMENT
Working with multiple clay bodies, I experiment with different firing techniques, creating objects that naturally represent my passions and interests. I am both a functional and non functional potter, handbuilding and throwing. I’ve always had a connection/fascination with nature, so they are often incorporated in my art.
I seek to enhance people’s tactile senses. The impact of my pieces is meant to create something that’s both familiar and uncanny. Many of my pieces each have a specific sound and feel to them, drawing people to touch them, I encourage this interaction. I hope to stimulate connections.
