Clay Explorers – Fall 2024 Youth Programs
Join us for six weeks of creative exploration in our clay hand-building classes, designed for all ages. Each session is tailored to the skill level of the participants, ensuring projects are engaging and appropriate for everyone. With small class sizes, you’ll receive personalized instruction and guidance to bring your ideas to life.
Our classes don’t just stay in the studio—museum exploration is incorporated into the experience, sparking creativity and inspiration that flows back into the classroom. Discover the joy of working with clay in a supportive and inspiring environment at Medalta.
Adult & Child (2-5yrs) $85.00
- Details: Tuesdays, Sept 17 – Oct 22 | 9:30 – 10:15am | $85.00
- Description: Collaborate with your young children to create a variety of projects such as plates, bowls, collection dishes, mushrooms, turtles, and animal fossils.
10% discount for multiple children registration in any class – each child receives the discount
For example – one student in Children class ($110) and one student in Youth class ($110), each pays $99 each.
Children (6-8 years)
- Details: Tuesdays, Sept 17 – Oct 22 | 3:30 – 5:00pm | $110.00
- Description: Children learn the basic clay building techniques—pinch pots, slabs, and coils—to create animals, games, food, mushroom houses, and other creative projects.

Youth (9-11 years)
- Details: Wednesdays, Sept 18 – Oct 23 | 3:45 – 5:15pm | $110.00
- Description: Youth are taught basic building techniques plus some advanced methods for creating with clay. Creative challenges inspire and motivate strong, quality projects while allowing for personal expression.

Teens (12-16 years)
- Details: Thursdays, Sept 19 – Oct 24 | 3:45 – 5:15pm | $130.00
- Description: Teens are given strategies and challenges to generate ideas for clay projects. Basic and advanced techniques are practiced to develop strong clay building skills, with a focus on creative and critical thinking.
