We are so excited to announce that after a pandemic-induced hiatus, the museum is back up and running with so much to offer! The museum is now open 7 days week, from 10am – 5pm, with tours running every single day.
Join one of our experienced guides for a deep dive into the industrial history of the entire Clay District, while exploring the Medalta museum including the “Ol’ Factory” with original equipment still intact and original beehive kilns you can walk right into. There are many stories to be told of the people and circumstances surrounding Medalta including the “Hobo Hotel” , The Donkey with a Secret”, and what eventually led to the downfall of the factory.

Do you prefer to wander at your own pace? Self-guided tours are available anytime throughout the day, with last call taking place @4pm.
Remember to check out our gift shop that is full of Medalta items (such as our famous crocks!) made in our production facility with fully operational equipment as old as 100 years! We also carry a wide variety of ceramics made by local artists, as well as renowned potters from across the globe that have attended our Medalta International Artists in Residence program at the Shaw Centre for Contemporary Ceramics.
