ARTIST STATEMENT
The farms, towns, and Canadian prairies surrounding the city where I was raised, have always fascinated me and are at the root of my interest in the lives of working class families such as my own. Whether it is an old grain elevator or the presence of a maternal figure, the materials and processes I work with relate to the domestic lives and work spaces of those before me. By pairing durable mediums such as ceramics and steel, with less permanent ones like bread and cloth, I create sculptures and installations to reflect the fleeting, yet lasting affects of the past.
