Zoë Pinnell is a second-year student at Sheridan College. Originally from London Ontario, she moved to Halifax to attended NSCAD University, studying ceramics and textiles before moving back to Ontario to attend Sheridan. She loves to incorporate plants, animals, and whimsical patterns in her work inspired by the world around her.
I recreate the world around me with a whimsical and joyful touch that will bring happiness to myself and the viewer.
I work with handbuilt and thrown altered earthenware forms decorated with colourful glazes, slips, and illustrations that are influenced by patterns, objects, nature, and stories to create playfully, sometimes surreal, painted pieces. The exploration of form and functionality are important to me, so creating fun forms that bring pure joy both during the process of making and the use of them is what I wish to surround myself with.
