Annette’s first ceramic inspiration came from her Dutch grandmother, a figurative clay sculptor. Clay is a part of Annette’s earliest memories and symbolizes family connection, the joy of togetherness and expressing creativity.
After a career in graphic design, Annette returned to Sheridan College and graduated with high honours from the Crafts and Design Program in Ceramics. Her work has been recognized with five student awards.
Annette is very influenced by public sculpture and the great stories they tell. Today she strives to tell her own stories. You can find out more about Annette on her website (www.lifeonearthenware.com).
