Pia Grüter is from Köln, Germany.  She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Academie Beeldende Kunsten Maastricht, Netherlands.  She has exhibited her work throughout Europe as well as in the United States.

Pia’s fascination with art lies in examining all the different aspects that can be experienced, not only on a visual level but the connections that we may experience from a piece.  The idea that we can evoke participation with the work, for instance, becoming an antagonist or protagonist within a piece, has become a specific area of interest for her.  Besides the modeling characteristics of ceramics, its other aspects such as movement and sound, extend the possibilities of the material and leaves room for experimentation.
